Diversity at Accso

We believe that diversity enriches our company and our teamwork. That is why we educate, make the topic visible both internally and externally, and offer a point of contact for all matters relating to diversity.

Our networks form interest groups on various topics – similar to our communities. However, the content is not about “technical” topics, but rather more general aspects that, for example, influence our collaboration at Accso, our own health or even topics that affect society as a whole, such as sustainability, the advancement of women or diversity. Everyone is welcome to join in, get involved, contribute and implement ideas. We present our diversity activities here.

    We live diversity

    We believe that diversity enriches our company and our teamwork. That's why we make diversity tangible at Accso. We want to help ensure that everyone feels comfortable at Accso. That's why we raise awareness of diversity among all Accsonauts. Everyone should be able to fully develop their potential, regardless of age, gender identity, ethnicity, origin, sexual orientation and physical/mental condition. We want to promote diversity because it creates an inclusive work culture where everyone feels comfortable.

    How we are already committed to diversity

    Sensitize for diversityWe show what diversity means, provide support and information on current topics.
    • Diversity network presentation: The network has introduced itself to all Accso teams. We also took the opportunity to explain what diversity is and how even small things can help to make everyone feel comfortable with us.
    • Diversity glossary: Our diversity network has created a comprehensive diversity glossary to educate all Accsonauts about key diversity terms and concepts. The glossary serves as a helpful reference tool and promotes understanding of the many dimensions of diversity.
    • Literature and video collection: To deepen knowledge, we have compiled an extensive collection of literature and videos that address various aspects of diversity. These resources are available to everyone and serve as a continuous education and awareness-raising tool.
    • Blog posts for the Diversity Calendar: On our internal blog, we regularly publish posts on topics related to diversity that are based on our Diversity Calendar. These articles offer insights, current topics and practical tips for promoting an inclusive culture.
    • AI and diversity: The rise of AI tools brings many opportunities, but also risks. That's why we've published an interview video. In it, we highlight the issues to consider when using AI and how to avoid stereotyping, for example.
    Experience diversityWe celebrate action days such as Diversity Day or Pride Month and are present at internal events.
    • Diversity Day: We participate in the German Diversity Day of the Diversity Charter.
    • Equality stand at AccsoCon: “AccsoCon” is our internal trade fair for further development and celebrating successes. Since 2023, the second day of the communities has also included an equality stand.
    • Pride Month events: During Pride Month, we ran several social media campaigns. We also drew attention to the Pride event near our locations and all participating Accsonauts received a T-shirt. A flag was hoisted in the office for the special Pride week.
    Promoting diversityWe share our knowledge, prepare content and exchange ideas with other companies.
    • Best Friends Exchange: Our best friends are other companies with whom we carry out joint projects. These companies share our values and have similar aspirations for their corporate culture. Representatives from the HR department met for a virtual workshop dedicated to the topic of “diversity”.
    • Appointment of confidential advisors: We have appointed confidential advisors who are available to discuss diversity and inclusion issues. These individuals provide support, advice and advocate for the concerns of our employees.
    • Guidelines for gender-neutral language: Our guidelines for gender-neutral language provide clear guidelines and examples of gender-equal language. The aim is to make communication in our organization more inclusive and respectful.
    • Donations to social associations: We have donated twice to the association vielbunt e.V. to support projects promoting diversity and inclusion in our society. We have also donated to the Darmstadt women's shelter and to the Angelman e.V. These donations help to advance important initiatives for equality.
    • Award FAZ: In 2023, we were recognized by the F.A.Z.-Institut as a “role model in diversity and inclusion 2023”. Accso ranks third in the ranking of IT consultants.
