Interner Hackathon im Rahmen der Partnerschaft

Im Zuge der offiziellen Partnerschaft mit STACKIT hat unsere interne Cloud & DevOps Community zu einem Hackathons eingeladen, um über die Grundlagen hinauszugehen und fundierte Best Practices für den Einsatz in Kundenprojekten zu entwickeln. Im Mittelpunkt standen die Evaluierung typischer DevOps-Prozesse und konkreter Technologien in der STACKIT-Cloud.

Die Teams erarbeiteten praxisrelevante Lösungen für zentrale technologische Herausforderungen wie:

• Infrastructure as Code: bewährte Methoden für den sicheren und automatisierten Umgang mit dem STACKIT Terraform Provider 
• Kubernetes (SKE): Dokumentation des gesamten Lebenszyklus eines STACKIT Kubernetes Clusters, von der initialen Planung über das Deployment bis hin zum operativen Betrieb
• Identity & Access Management: Entwicklung eines tragfähigen Konzepts für Rollen und Berechtigungen, das als Blaupause für die Umsetzung von Compliance-Anforderungen in STACKIT dient
• Confidential Computing: Analyse und Bewertung der Confidential-Kubernetes-Option von STACKIT im Hinblick auf Sicherheitsvorteile, Kosten und praktische Implementierung

Der Hackathon war ein wichtiger Schritt, um unsere technologische Expertise im STACKIT-Ökosystem gezielt zu vertiefen. Wir haben eine wertvolle Basis an wiederverwendbaren Konzepten und praktischen Erkenntnissen geschaffen, die in unsere Kundenprojekte fließen können.

Who is STACKIT?

STACKIT is the cloud provider of Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group. Originally developed in 2018 to drive digital transformation within the Schwarz Group, the cloud platform was opened up to external companies and public administrations in 2022. STACKIT positions itself as an independent European cloud provider with the goal of becoming Europe’s first hyperscaler. All data centers are located in Germany and Austria; the platform is 100% GDPR-compliant and based on open standards to avoid vendor lock-in.

Achieving Digital Sovereignty with STACKIT

The timing of this partnership is no coincidence: Surveys such as the DIHK Digitalization Survey 2026 show that many German companies are largely or entirely dependent on technologies and services from non-EU countries. As a German cloud provider, STACKIT enables us to offer solutions to customers in highly regulated sectors whose requirements demand European data sovereignty.

With STACKIT and IONOS, Accso now has two strong German cloud providers in its portfolio that offer genuine alternatives to the well-known hyperscalers.

Internal Hackathon as Part of the Partnership

As part of the official partnership with STACKIT, our internal Cloud & DevOps community hosted a hackathon to go beyond the basics and develop sound best practices for use in customer projects. The focus was on evaluating typical DevOps processes and specific technologies in the STACKIT cloud.

The teams developed practical solutions for key technological challenges such as:

• Infrastructure as Code: best practices for the secure and automated use of the STACKIT Terraform Provider 
• Kubernetes (SKE): Documentation of the entire lifecycle of a STACKIT Kubernetes cluster, from initial planning through deployment to day-to-day operations
• Identity & Access Management: Development of a robust concept for roles and permissions that serves as a blueprint for implementing compliance requirements in STACKIT
• Confidential Computing: Analysis and evaluation of STACKIT’s Confidential Kubernetes option in terms of security benefits, costs, and practical implementation

The hackathon was an important step toward specifically deepening our technological expertise within the STACKIT ecosystem. We have created a valuable foundation of reusable concepts and practical insights that can be incorporated into our client projects.
