Hesse Day 2026 in Fulda: Digitalisation through dialogue with the public

From 12 to 21 June 2026, Fulda became the meeting place for the whole of Hesse. Under the motto ‘FD – Foll hessisch’, Hessentag brought together people from all regions of the state – to celebrate, exchange ideas and discover new things. As Hesse’s largest regional festival, Hessentag combines tradition and the future in equal measure, offering an ideal platform for discussing the issues that matter to our society. That is precisely why Accso was there, represented by Aurelius Lie.

Digitalisation where people come together

Digital transformation is not confined to businesses, public authorities or specialist conferences. It affects our everyday lives, our working lives and the way we live together as a society. " Hessentag" offers a unique opportunity to engage in conversation with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and to gain an insight into precisely these perspectives.

For Accso, therefore, the focus was not solely on technology, but on the question of how digitalisation can create tangible added value: for citizens, for local authorities, for businesses and for society as a whole.

At our stand, numerous discussions took place on digital administrative services, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, modern software solutions and the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world. Once again, it became clear that people are not just interested in new technologies – they want to understand how these can improve their lives.

A glimpse into the event

Innovation meets a love of one’s homeland

Hesse day has always seen itself as a place for people to come together. At the same time, Fulda presents itself as a modern and innovative location that combines tradition and progress. This combination makes the event an ideal setting for discussing the digital future of Hesse.

This concept is also central to Accso. As an IT consultancy with roots in Hesse, we have been developing digital solutions for businesses, public institutions and organisations for many years. In doing so, we see every day that successful digitalisation is achieved above all when technological innovation and human needs are considered together.

Hesse day has brought precisely this connection to the fore: between the marquee and expert discussions, between tradition and the future, between regional identity and digital transformation.

Making technology easy to understand

Many visitors took the opportunity to ask questions about current developments in digitalisation and artificial intelligence. It became clear that there is a great need for clear information and open dialogue.

How is AI changing our world of work? What opportunities does it present for local authorities? How can digital solutions be designed to be citizen-centred and trustworthy?

Such questions cannot be answered by technical innovation alone. They require dialogue, transparency and a willingness to take different perspectives into account. This is precisely why events such as Hessentag are so valuable.

Shaping the future together

With around 1,200 programme items and several hundred thousand visitors expected, Hesse day is one of Hesse’s most significant events. It brings together people who would not normally cross paths in everyday life – thereby creating space for new ideas and perspectives.

For Accso, taking part was therefore far more than just a traditional trade fair appearance. It was an opportunity to listen, take on board new ideas and discuss the digital future of our federal state with citizens, businesses and institutions.

We would like to thank all visitors for the many inspiring conversations and look forward to incorporating the ideas that emerged from them into our work.

After all, digitalisation is most successful when it is shaped collaboratively.
