AI innovation workshop at LOGICHECK: From idea to two prototypes
Creating more focus for expert work
As a service provider for mobility-related insurance, LOGICHECK handles processes involving recurring tasks and technically complex decisions. A key lever lies in areas where a lot of time is still spent on general activities – such as pre-sorting, assigning, or preparing information – before specialists delve into the content in depth. The goal was therefore to use AI in such a way that it
- reduces routine work in work preparation and
- supports specialist work through better use of knowledge – without getting stuck in vague "AI can do everything" scenarios.
Making AI understandable – through specific "micro-functions"
A key feature of the workshop: Accso made AI tangible to workshop participants not through buzzwords, but through small, specific capabilities that can be combined like building blocks (e.g., recognizing, classifying, structuring, and describing content).
To this end, Accso brought along a comprehensive set of such AI functions as a creative method. In mixed groups (including management and specialist users), ideas were gradually generated, refined, and condensed. In addition, an initial technical feasibility assessment was incorporated so that visions could be turned into viable candidates.
Accso deliberately took on a dual role in the workshop: moderation, structure, and methodology on the one hand, and technical expertise on the other. This enabled us to support the development of creative ideas, evaluate them directly in terms of realistic implementation options, and translate them into prototypes.
"The joint AI workshop demonstrated the potential of interdisciplinary exchange within our company. Accso used practical functions to clearly demonstrate how individual work steps can be automated. This enabled workshop participants to recognize how AI and automation can be used in their own everyday work. At the same time, the workshop strengthened our collaboration with Accso, as the examples presented directly gave rise to initial ideas for short-term automation projects and the joint further development of our processes."Oliver HellwaldProjekt Manager / Process Management LOGICHECK
34 actionable ideas – condensed into two key areas
The result was a list of 34 ideas that could be used as an internal pitch. In terms of content, two major themes emerged:
- Validation of selected data AI takes over preparatory steps so that specialists can prepare more processes with the same amount of work, as they need less time for manual data entry.
- Support for decision-making Existing knowledge is processed in such a way that it supports research and decision-making.
"The Accso team supported us in identifying potential areas for AI implementation and setting up pilot projects. During a workshop, we examined our goals of "increasing internal work efficiency through the use of AI tools" and "boosting marketing" through AI projects and assessed their feasibility. After the identification phase, intensive collaboration with Accso enabled us to quickly initiate the first project steps and achieve success. Particularly positive: the great flexibility that Accso and its team demonstrated in the subsequent project phases."Magdalene SchützManagement LOGICHECK
From workshop to prototype: two concrete applications
Building on the identified focus areas, the Accso team worked with LOGICHECK to develop two prototypes in the next step. These were based on the concepts previously specified by LOGICHECK.
The AI applications are being developed in close collaboration between Accso and LOGICHECK: requirements were refined, functions adapted, and individual development steps jointly advanced during coordination meetings. This is currently resulting in practical AI solutions that can be specifically integrated into everyday work at LOGICHECK and provide meaningful support for existing processes.
Prototype 1: Validation of read data
The first prototype addresses tasks such as:
- Character recognition (OCR) and extraction
- Pre-filling of information
This speeds up the preparation of processes and reduces the workload for specialist staff in a targeted manner.
Prototype 2: Support tool for complex research
The second prototype is designed for cases where research is particularly time-consuming. The tool supports our specialist reviewers by presenting relevant information in a structured way, thus making a sound basis for decision-making available more quickly.
