Women @ Accso – Vasilena Kaludova

Who are you and what do you do at Accso?
My name is Vasilena Kaludova and I joined Accso in June 2023. Right from the start, I was given my first project to work on and have since gradually taken on various other tasks. I work as a project manager and support our teams in successfully implementing projects. I find the variety of my tasks particularly exciting: in addition to the projects, I am also involved in recruiting fairs and initiatives such as WomenPowerIT, where we encourage female students and talk about our own path into IT.
Tell us about your educational background
My journey into IT began early on: I gained my first experience with C++ in fifth grade and took part in computer science competitions. After graduating from high school, I studied software engineering and completed my bachelor's degree in 2020. During my studies, I discovered how diverse the world of IT is – from business analysis to UX to project management. My interest in psychology and communication ultimately led me to project management, which I further deepened with a master's degree in business psychology.
Technologically speaking, I'm not a developer, but I'm a real power user when it comes to tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, and MS Teams. I use these every day to organize and manage projects and keep the team together.
What does your day-to-day work look like and what are your other roles at Accso?
My day-to-day work is varied and involves a range of different tasks: I manage projects, assist with recruitment events, and promote diversity in IT. My involvement in the Accso Community Project Management is particularly close to my heart. Here, I exchange ideas with project managers from different projects and industries, seek advice, and am happy to pass on tips. The community is voluntary and thrives on open exchange—something I really appreciate.
As a project manager, I make sure that everyone involved in the project is happy. Budgets and deadlines are important, but I believe that real quality comes from open communication, empathy, and structure. I am convinced that when the team feels good, success follows.
Which project was special for you during your time at Accso?
Honestly, every project is special to me! I don't rank them, but appreciate every challenge and, above all, the collaboration with my colleagues. My goal is always to provide the best possible support and achieve the best results together. Because only as a team can we really excel.
